As temperatures drop, your pond plants will be affected. When nights get cold it’s time to stop fertilizing. This will signal the end of their growth season. Be sure to remove any dead leaves to avoid debris building up in the water.

Also, trim the plants around your pond before they start to die off. For hardy water lilies, trim close to the base of the plant. For marginal plants, cut back any parts that might fall into the water.
